Abia Warriors return home to review pre-season setback

Abia Warriors head coach, Moses Adenrele has disclosed that his men are heading back home to review what they must do to become a complete team after they suffered shocking defeat to Cynosure FC in a friendly match played in Abakaliki.

The Warriors fell to the first half strike from Daberechi Anyanwu and it was the way the game ended to the disappointment of Adenrele who expected his players to turn the game around against the lower league side.

He noted that the idea to travel to Abakaliki to play some test games was to ensure that he put all his players through such energy-sapping games to gauge their fitness level and also see how they react to some testy situations.

“It has been a nice experience for us in Abakaliki for the past few days because we were able to play some friendly matches that helped us to see the players we have in the team and what other things we must do going forward,” Adenrele told Goal.

“It wasn’t the kind of outcome we bargained for against Cynosure but we need those kinds of results to put us on our toes and let us realize that we are not yet we are supposed to be. I will say that we gave a good account of ourselves and also played together as a team better than what I expected.

“We are going back home to review the games we played in Abakaliki and try to make the necessary corrections. We are not yet done with friendly games because it is from there we are going to put our corrections into further tests.”
