German soccer side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have announced a long-term partnership with Indian company U Sports.

U Sports, a division of the finance and media company Unilazer, will work with Hoffenheim to develop the grassroots game in India.

The project, scheduled to start in early 2015, will involve a talent search at 1000 schools in 50 Indian cities with the hope of seeing nearly half a million players in action. From this, Hoffenheim will select 30 young talents to travel to Germany and train using the club’s ‘Academy Achtzehn99′ philosophy.

Hoffenheim sit fifth in the Bundesliga table and next play reigning champions Bayern Munich on Saturday.
