Gor Mahia midfielder Khalid Aucho is set to ditch the club next month for Scottish side Glasgow Rangers.
The Ugandan midfielder has been consistent while at Tusker and now Gor Mahia, helping the sides clinch Kenyan Premier League titles.
Speaking to Goal on Thursday, the box to box midfielder said he is keen to join the side as it will expose him to the outside world. “It is true Glasgow Rangers have approached me, they are interested in my services and as a matter of fact I want to join them.
"Everything is on the initial stage, but I hope it goes through because it is every footballer’s dream to achieve such a fete. The club, (Gor Mahia) is aware of it and I hope that all will run smoothly.”
The lanky midfielder has been a key member in K’Ogalo squad and has been compared to Southampton midfielder and Kenyan captain Victor Wanyama. Aucho scored the opener in a 2-0 win over Sofapaka on Wednesday as Gor Mahia moved top of the league standings for the first time this season.
Glasgow Rangers will return to Scotland's top tier next season following four seasons in the country's lower divisions.
