Minnaert: Kateregga doesn’t want to play for me

Minnaert says striker Allan Kateregga was left out of the squad to face Thika United because of disciplinary issues

AFC Leopards coach Ivan Minnaert says Ugandan import Allan Kateregga was left out of the squad to face Thika United because of disciplinary issues.

Last weekend, the tough talking Belgian said he does not consider a player to be ‘big’ if he does not perform for the team. Speaking on Saturday ahead of their match against the milkmen, the tactician said he opted to leave the playmaker behind because he is undecided.

“Kateregga does not want to play for me, that is why he has been left out of the squad. I left him at home to give him space to think of what he wants. If I feel you do not want to play for me or the club, then I have no business with you.

“I am not under pressure; I have done my job as a coach and shall continue offering my best to this great team.”

Kateregga’s latest troubles could see him offloaded by the club he joined at the start of the season after ditching Ushuru FC.
