New Gor Mahia coach Frank Nuttall is the highest paid coach in Kenyan Premier League (KPL), Goal can exclusively reveal.

The tactician, who was unveiled on Wednesday, will draw a Sh600, 000 per month salary.  It means he will cost the Kenyan league champions Sh1.8million for the three months he will be at the club.

According to an official of Gor Mahia, who did not want to be named, the salary they are paying Nuttall is Sh50, 000 more than what former coach Bobby Williamson was earning.

“The negotiations were tough but we finally settled on a Sh600, 000 salary per month. More importantly, we explained to him that we may not always be able to pay on time due to the fact that we do not have a sponsor and he understands.

“He is one man we can do business with and don’t expect that he will push us or incite the players when his salary delays just like Williamson, who never complained when we did not pay him on time,” added our source.

Nuttall earns more than AFC Leopards' coach Pieter De Jongh, who takes home Sh350, 000 per month.

Another high earning coach in premier league is Sofapaka’s Sam Timbe who takes home Sh400, 000 per month.
