Rwandese side APR were eliminated from Cecafa Kagame Cup after going down 4-0 to Al Khartoum of Sudan in the first quarter-final match played at National Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday.
The Rwandese came into the match as favorites, but it was their opponents, who outshone them goals from Elmani, who scored a brace and Eltayeb before captain Bilal Salah netted the fourth to take his tally in the tournament to four.
Slick play by the Sudanese side was hard for the Rwandese to cope with, and with the shambolic defense by their goalkeeper Ndoli Jean Claude and the men in front of him, the three times champions stood no chance for a comeback.

“I expected the game to be difficult but I am happy the way things have unfolded. We have scored twelve goals which is good for us, now our focus is in the next match. I cannot say we are the favorites, we are just taking one game at a time,” Khartoum’s Kwesi Appiah told Goal after the match.
The Sudanese outfit will now face the winner between Kenyan champions Gor Mahia and Malakia of South Sudan in the semi-finals of the regional tournament.
