That is all for today's live text coverage. Thanks for joining, goodbye!
Despite this seventh Premier League win of the season, United finish bottom of the Premier League. Burnley conclude 2020-21 in 17th place, albeit 11 points clear of the relegation zone.
Sheffield United round off a disappointing 2020-21 Premier League campaign with a 1-0 win over fellow strugglers Burnley. McGoldrick's strike from range in the first half proved the difference in the end. Basham went closest to adding a second goal when thumping a shot against the post, but in the end one goal was enough for the division's bottom side.
90' + 5' FULL-TIME: SHEFFIELD UNITED 1-0 BURNLEY
90' + 4' CHANCE! Rodriguez flicks the ball on and Wood looks as though he is going to bury it. Ramsdale and Robinson combine to ensure that Burnley only have a corner and not a goal. The set-piece comes to nothing.
90' + 3' McGoldrick gets in behind the Burnley defence but scuffs his shot off target with just Norris to beat. It would not have counted, anyway, as the offside flag went up soon after.
90' + 2' The United supporters lucky enough to be in attendance are urging their side on now with around two minutes to go. The sides are level in terms of shots on target - three each - but it is the hosts who hold a one-goal lead.
90' Four minutes have been added on at the end of the match at Bramall Lane.
A. Barnes
J. Guðmundsson
89' Barnes is on for Gudmundsson as Dyche makes his third and final change. Burnley are going all out attack in search of an equaliser.
J. Dunne
Yellow Card
88' Dunne swings at the ball and catches Brewster on the chin. The referee books the defender for a high boot.
87' SHOT! Wood knocks down a ball towards strike partner Vydra but a couple of United players are right on top of him. Brewster gets a rather weak shot away from 25 yards at the other end, which Norris easily deals with.
85' United are looking to protect what they have. Lowton's cross is too high for Rodriguez, who has barely had a sniff since coming on. Burnley have been poor today.
P. Jagielka
B. Osborn
83' Jagielka is brought on for Osborn late on. The veteran defender takes over from Egan as captain.
81' Brewster's cross is pushed into the air by Norris, who looks very shaky in the Burnley goal. Stevens has a chance to send another cross in from the left but it is cut out.
R. Brewster
D. Jebbison
79' Jebbison has looked lively in attack for United today, without anything to show for it. Brewster, still without a goal this term, comes on in his place.
78' PENALTY APPEAL! Westwood's cross hits Osborn's outstretched arm and Burnley are certain they should be awarded a penalty, but the referee disagrees. United scramble the ball away and a VAR check stands by Kevin Friend's on-field decision.
77' Jebbison and Osborn are waiting in the box but Stevens' cross towards them is overhit. United would love a second goal to kill this game off.
75' Heckingbottom has yet to turn to his bench today. Youngster Osula will be keen on making his senior debut, while Brewster is another waiting in reserve.
74' The home team are back to a full complement of players as Basham returns to the field. This has been far from a classic, but United will not care all that much as they edge closer to a final-day victory.
72' United defender Basham, who was involved in a nasty clash with Ramsdale in the first half, is having the bandage on his head replaced. Play will resume shortly...
J. Rodriguez
D. McNeil
70' McNeil is replaced by Rodriguez in Burnley's second change of the game. The visitors now have Vydra, Wood and Rodriguez on the field.
70' Burnley launch a counter but Basham holds them at bay for long enough for his team-mates to get back. McNeil tries to keep the attack alive but his cross goes behind off Basham - him again! - for a corner.
69' Robinson exchanges passes with McGoldrick and sends a low cross into a dangerous zone from the left. The lively Jebbison gets in front of his man but cannot guide the cross on target.
67' Burnley are enjoying arguably their best spell of the match. Can they start turning this possession into chances? Dyche and Heckingbottom will likely be tempted to make a change or two at this point.
66' Gudmundsson heads down a floated pass over the top into the path of Wood, but it skips into the hands of Ramsdale before the New Zealand international can pounce.
C. Basham
Yellow Card
65' Basham is shown a yellow card for a foul on Vydra, making him the third player to be booked today.
63' Ramsdale makes a bit of a mess of punching clear a free-kick. Tarkowski guides a header goalwards and Fleck is well positioned in front of goal to clear the danger.
61' The half-time substitution made by Dyche - Vydra for Brownhill - has not really paid off yet. United are looking the more threatening side as Jebbison takes on a number of players before pulling the ball back for Fleck, who slows down the tempo as the attack fades out.
59' Sheffield United have won their final league game in just one of their four previous Premier League campaigns, losing the last three in a row since beating Chelsea 4-2 in 1992-93.
57' Dunne gets across to cut out Basham's cross. Prior to that, McGoldrick tripped before he could get a shot away after being picked out by Stevens' poked pass.
55' McGoldrick has options to his left but decides to have a go with the angle slightly against him, perhaps knowing the Burnley keeper is a little nervy. Tarkowski makes a good block, so that was ultimately the wrong choice from McGoldrick.
53' McNeil's cross is far too close to Ramsdale, who is the busier of the two goalkeepers but is still not really having to break into a sweat. Burnley are up to 61 per cent possession now.
51' OFFSIDE! Wood is played in with a nice pass through the heart of United's defence. He has a chance to compose himself but Ramsdale is equal to the shot. The offside flag would have denied the striker, anyway.
49' Ramsdale comfortably collects the corner. United counter but it comes to very little.
48' The threat of Vydra up top will give United's defenders something a little different to think about. Taylor tries to pick out one of his team-mates in the middle but the cross is blocked for a corner.
46' RESTART! Sheffield United, who are looking to sign off with a win in front of their returning fans, get us back up and running at Bramall Lane.
M. Vydra
J. Brownhill
46' Burnley needed to change something at the break and have done exactly that with the introduction of Vydra for Brownhill.
Burnley may have had a few shots on target, but they have all been routine for Ramsdale. Dyche's men need to really step things up in the second half if they are to avoid defeat against United, who are on course for a seventh league win of the season.
Sheffield United take a one-goal lead into half-time thanks to McGoldrick's strike from 25 yards with 24 minutes on the clock. Basham fired a shot against the frame of the goal for the hosts soon after, while Burnley have yet to seriously test Ramsdale in the opposition goal.
45' + 3' HALF-TIME: SHEFFIELD UNITED 1-0 BURNLEY
45' + 2' The game has gone a little sloppy as we edge closer to the interval. Burnley are the side attacking, but they are still struggling to create much of anything.
45' + 1' Three minutes have been added on at the end of the first half at Bramall Lane.
45' SAVE! McNeil slips as he gets a shot away from just outside the box and the ball trickles through for Ramsdale to collect. That is the third save the United keeper has made, but each of those have been routine.
43' Confirmation that Basham is back on the field following his nasty collision with Ramsdale. Burnley have two minutes, plus a few more added on, to find an equaliser before half-time.
42' The stretcher is ready on the touchline but it does not look like Basham will need it. The defender has been patched up and, assuming he was not concussed, should be fine to play on.
40' There is a stoppage in play for Basham to receive some treatment. The United defender was caught by Ramsdale's knee and has a cut to the side of his head.
J. Fleck
Yellow Card
38' Fleck is booked for a challenge on McNeil. The resulting free-kick from deep comes to little, despite Ramsdale failing to collect.
37' OFF THE BAR! Basham is first to a loose ball from a corner. He gets away from Cork and fires a powerful shot away that comes back off the frame of the goal.
35' McGoldrick pounces on a loose ball and gets a powerful shot away, which Taylor does well to block behind for a corner. He gets a pat on the back from team-mate Dunne - that was a great block.
33' Burnley have had 66 per cent of possession but have yet to seriously test Ramsdale. They are seeing a lot of the ball high up the pitch now, but Dunne frustratingly overhits a pass out of play.
31' That goal from McGoldrick, incidentally, was the 1,000th of the Premier League season. Burnley have yet to recover from that setback, with United coming closest to scoring the game's second goal since then.
29' Burnley have lost their final league game in each of their last four campaigns. Their last win was at Charlton Athletic in the 2015-16 Championship season, which was also the last time they finished a league campaign away from home.
27' SHOT! Ramsdale gets the ball forward quickly and Osborn has space to run into. Like McGoldrick a few minutes ago, he decides to shoot from 25 yards as the Burnley defence back off. The shot is straight at Norris and he collects at the second attempt.
25' Questions must be asked of Norris in the Burnley goal - could he have got a hand to McGoldrick's shot? It appears a few of his team-mates feel that is the case as they all put their hands in the air.
E. Stevens
Assist
24' Stevens is credited with the assist but this goal was all about the quality of McGoldrick, who has undoubtedly been United's best outfield player this season.
D. McGoldrick
Goal
24' GOOOOAAALLL!!! SHEFFIELD UNITED 1-0 BURNLEY!! McGoldrick carries the ball forward and, with nobody around him 25 yards from goal, decides to have a go. The curled shot is just out of Norris' reach and the division's bottom side have a lead to hold on to.
23' This has been a frustrating watch so far. Both teams lack quality when it comes to the final third, which is perhaps little surprise given their positions in the league.
22' United are getting a number of crosses into the box from the left, but McGoldrick and Jebbison are never quite on the end of them. Burnley launch a counter that soon fizzles out, not helped by Brownhill going down.
G. Baldock
Yellow Card
21' Baldock is issued the first yellow card of the game for a challenge on Burnley midfielder Cork.
19' McNeil gets away from his man but sends a cross too close to Ramsdale. It remains goalless at Bramall Lane with nearly a quarter of the game played.
17' Another cross into the middle is just out of Jebbison's reach. It comes back in from the right and McGoldrick throws himself at the ball, but he is unable to keep his attempt on target.
15' Burnley have lost all five Premier League matches without goalkeeper Nick Pope this season, conceding 17 goals at an average of 3.4 per game. In their 3-0 defeat to Liverpool, stand-in keeper Will Norris conceded three times without making a single save.
13' United are penned into their own half - and indeed their own box! Another Burnley corner causes panic but Dunne, who felt he was being pulled, fires a shot into a sea of bodies.
11' SAVE! Wood looks certain to turn the corner on goal, but the ball instead comes off Basham and spins just wide of the target. From the next set-piece, the ball eventually drops to McNeil and his attempt from range is tipped over.
9' There is a decent tempo to the game in the early stages. Egan takes no risks as he knocks the ball behind for a corner under pressure from Wood, who was chasing down a good pass from Tarkowski.
7' Stevens floats a dangerous cross into the six-yard box towards Jebbison. The youngster attempts to get on the end of the ball, only to be beaten to it by Taylor.
5' ATTEMPT! Gudmundsson brings the ball inside and curls a shot on target, but it is pretty much right at Ramsdale. McGoldrick drills a ball in at the other end but Tarkowski is first to it.
3' United's returning fans are going through their repertoire of chants. There is not a great deal going on in terms of action on the field, though, with the two sides taking it in turns to knock the ball around.
1' KICK-OFF! Burnley get us up and running in Yorkshire! Both of these teams are looking to end their campaign with victory, which should set up an entertaining contest.
Both sets of players are now out on the field of play and kick-off is just a few moments away at Bramall Lane, where supporters are in attendance as lockdown restrictions continue to be eased.
Sheffield United have won just one of their last seven league games against Burnley (D2 L4), though it was a 3-0 victory in this corresponding fixture last season. Burnley have won just one of their last 18 away league meetings with United (D5 L12), winning 3-2 in a Championship match in December 2008.
Burnley also show one change from last time out, a 3-0 loss to Liverpool, with Dunne replacing the absent Mee alongside Tarkowski in the backline. Pope again misses out for the Clarets - Norris gets the nod over Peacock-Farrell in his place - and it has today been announced the England stopper has undergone minor knee surgery.
Sheffield United make one change from the side that started the 1-0 loss to Newcastle United on Wednesday as Baldock comes in for Bogle, who drops down to the bench. That means a third start in a row for Jebbison up top at the expense of Brewster. Fellow youngster Osula is included in the matchday squad for the first time.
Substitutes: Erik Pieters, Anthony Driscoll-Glennon, Matej Vydra, Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Lewis Richardson, Richard Nartey, Ashley Barnes, Jay Rodriguez.
BURNLEY XI (4-4-1-1): Will Norris; Matt Lowton, James Tarkowski (c), Jimmy Dunne, Charlie Taylor; Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Ashley Westwood, Jack Cork, Dwight McNeil; Josh Brownhill; Chris Wood.
Substitutes: Wes Foderingham, Zak Brunt, John Lundstram, Jayden Bogle, Max Lowe, Phil Jagielka, Rhian Brewster, William Osula, Kean Bryan.
SHEFFIELD UNITED XI (3-4-2-1): Aaron Ramsdale; Chris Basham, John Egan (c), Jack Robinson; George Baldock, Oliver Norwood, John Fleck, Enda Stevens; David McGoldrick, Ben Osborn; Daniel Jebbison.
While the home side cannot finish any higher than 20th, Burnley could potentially climb a couple of places into 15th should results go their way on this final day of the season. However, the Clarets have lost back-to-back games without scoring, going down 4-0 to Leeds United and 3-0 to Liverpool.
United were relegated with six games to go and will be looking to avoid a couple of unwanted records today. The Blades have lost 29 Premier League games this term - one short of the all-time outright record - and their 19 goals scored is one less than the lowest amount ever for an English top-flight side.
