Commentary

A strange Premier League season comes to an end then with Leicester and Tottenham both able to plan for Europe. They'll no doubt give England's elites a run for their money again next season. That's all for now. Goodbye!
Leicester finish fifth in the final Premier League table then as they finish just a point behind Chelsea. Chelsea lost 2-1 to Aston Villa in the end but they'll be delighted that Tottenham did them a favour. Spurs' win means they pip Arsenal to seventh and creep into the inaugural Europa Conference League. After the tumultuous season they've had, they'll have to be content with that outcome.
Leicester will have to settle for the Europa League for a second successive season as Tottenham end their Champions League dreams. Leicester must have thought they had the win in the bag after Vardy put them 2-1 up with his second penalty of the game. Schmeichel's unfortunate own goal swung the momentum in Spurs' favour, and Bale twisted the dagger with his two goals at the end.
90' + 8' FULL-TIME: LEICESTER CITY 2-4 TOTTENHAM
90' + 7' Bale has become just the third player to score more than 10 goals in a Premier League season after appearing for less than 1,000 minutes, joining famous super subs Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Javier Hernandez. It's the first time he's scored two goals as a substitute since he did it for Real Madrid in the 2018 Champions League final.
G. Bale
Goal
90' + 6' GOAL! LEICESTER CITY 2-4 TOTTENHAM! Bale grabs his second goal from the bench to put Leicester's top four hopes to bed. The Welshman hits the post as he gets into the box and taps in from very close range as the rebound lands kindly for him.
J. Rodon
Son Heung-Min
90' + 3' Tottenham make a late change. Rodon will replace Son for the final few minutes.
90' + 2' Leicester are throwing everyone forward but the game has definitively swung away from them. Iheanacho then Vardy get caught offside.
90' Leicester win two corners in a row. Thomas heads off-target from the second. There'll be at least five additional minutes.
88' Bale finds Kane with a throughball and Leicester block Kane's shot from the centre of the box. Leicester don't look like scoring the two goals they need.
H. Kane
Assist
88' Kane adds an assist to his goal earlier. He was well within his rights to shoot himself but made the right decision not to. Leicester fans won't thank him for it.
G. Bale
Goal
86' GOAL! LEICESTER CITY 2-3 TOTTENHAM! Bale has surely broken Leicester hearts! Leicester are all over the place at the back and Kane finds himself at an angle too tight to shoot from. The England striker cuts back for Bale who smashes the ball straight down the middle. VAR checks the goal for a possible handball but Leicester's luck has finally run out.
85' Tielemans is overeager in challenging Hojbjerg and ends up giving away a free-kick. Leicester are running out of time.
84' Iheanacho runs towards goal and fires over from the edge of the box. Leicester are understandably desperate.
H. Winks
Yellow Card
83' Winks is booked for bringing down Iheanacho. It's an easy decision for the referee.
82' Leicester are still shocked but need to get their heads back in the game. Mendy hands Tottenham a corner and the hosts block Doherty's shot from outside the box.
Ayoze Pérez
M. Albrighton
80' Leicester have no choice but to attack now. Albrighton goes off. Perez comes on.
78' Schmeichel makes a vital save to keep Leicester's top four hopes alive! Bale finds Son to the left of the box and the South Korean shoots for the bottom left corner. Schmeichel gets down low to stop it from creeping in.
K. Schmeichel
Own Goal
76' GOAL! LEICESTER CITY 2-2 TOTTENHAM! Son swings the corner in from the left and Schmeichel fluffs his punch clear. The ball drops towards the far post and Leicester can't keep it from bouncing into the net! That'll go down as a Schmeichel own goal.
76' Son whips the free-kick in dangerously and Soyuncu gets his head to it to hand Tottenham the corner...
75' Son's corner doesn't beat the first man. The South Korean keeps the ball alive though and finds Doherty on the opposite side. Mendy slips and brings the Irishman down just to the left of Leicester's box.
73' Tottenham earn a corner down their right conceded by Soyuncu. Son will take it.
71' Tottenham halfheartedly attack but Leicester have everyone back to defend. There's no way that Leicester will want to let their lead slip.
69' So far Leicester have had six shots on target to Tottenham's one, Kane's goal. Tottenham have been very passive since going behind, which has been their problem all season.
Lucas Moura
D. Alli
68' Alli also leaves the pitch. Lucas is his replacement.
G. Bale
S. Bergwijn
68' Tottenham make a few changes. Bale comes on for Bergwijn in what will be his last appearance on loan to his former club.
66' Tottenham survive Leicester's corner but the Foxes have their tails up. Vardy darts down the left and earns Leicester another corner.
64' Leicester have switched to what looks like a 4-4-2 with Pereira playing on the right wing. Albrighton has moved to the left. The hosts win a corner down their left.
Ricardo Pereira
J. Maddison
62' Leicester make a substitution in an attempt to manage the game. Maddison applauds the home fans before making way for Pereira.
60' Iheanacho gets a shot away from the centre of the box but Lloris is equal to it, diving low to keep it out. That second goal has given Leicester a ton of confidence but they still need to be careful. A Tottenham goal would leave them fifth again on goal difference.
S. Bergwijn
Yellow Card
58' Bergwijn picks up the game's first yellow card for a crude challenge on Iheanacho. Leicester's home supporters are making some real noise now.
56' Chelsea are now 2-0 down to Aston Villa! The Leicester fans in the ground yell their encouragement. All Leicester have to do now is get their job done. Kane evades the challenge of Ndidi and fires over from the edge of the box.
54' Leicester are currently fourth, level with Liverpool on 69 points. Chelsea are still losing 1-0 away to Aston Villa. Tottenham win a corner off Castagne but Leicester are untroubled by it.
J. Vardy
Penalty Goal
52' GOAL! LEICESTER CITY 2-1 TOTTENHAM! Leicester are 40 minutes away from the Champions League as things stand! Vardy fires home a carbon copy of his first penalty, sending the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal. Lloris doesn't even move.
51' PENALTY TO LEICESTER! Vardy wins his second penalty of the game, nipping in front of Sanchez to race into the box. Sanchez tugs on Vardy's shirt and brings him down. The referee immediately points to the spot. VAR takes a look at it again and confirms the referee's decision.
50' Tottenham see out Leicester's corner but soon find themselves having to defend another. Leicester take it short to Ndidi whose swinger from the edge of the box is pushed away by Lloris.
48' Thomas' cross from the left is kept in play by Albrighton on the opposite side. Alderweireld blocks Albrighton's cross. Leicester have a corner down their right.
46' Vardy is caught offside from Tielemans' throughball. Seconds later Vardy's latches onto Maddison's pass but his first touch lets him down. Leicester keep possession though and Thomas busts a gut to cross from the byline. He can't keep the ball in play though.
45' Leicester get the second half underway. No changes at half-time.
As things stand at half-time Leicester are still fifth as Liverpool are 1-0 up against Crystal Palace. However, Chelsea are losing 1-0 away to Aston Villa so if Leicester can find a goal they'll pip them to fourth place, even if Chelsea go on to draw. Leicester have failed to win any of their final league games in the last five Premier League seasons. They somehow need to win this one.
Leicester have got a big 45 minutes ahead of them. The hosts took the lead through Vardy's penalty but Tottenham picked up not longer after that, equalising through Kane. This game could still swing either way.
45' + 2' HALF-TIME: LEICESTER CITY 1-1 TOTTENHAM
45' + 1' Vardy scampers onto a pass down the left but Sanchez uses his pace to beat the striker to it. Ndidi boots the ball away from Son up the other end. That's all for now!
45' Tottenham have picked up just as we're approaching half-time as Vardy has a shot blocked from the right of the box. There'll be two added minutes at the end of this first half.
43' That's Kane's 15th goal against Leicester in 12 Premier League games against them. If it's to be his last goal for Tottenham, it's not a bad way for him to bow out.
H. Kane
Goal
41' GOAL! LEICESTER CITY 1-1 TOTTENHAM! Son swings the corner in and finds Doherty at the far post. Doherty takes a touch and smacks it against a defender. The rebound causes confusion in Leicester's box and lands nicely for Kane near the penalty spot who smashes the ball into the net.
40' Thomas sticks a foot out to take the ball from Kane and hand Tottenham another corner. The visitors are growing in influence.
39' Leicester see out Tottenham's latest corner. This hasn't been the highest quality game yet but it's been engaging nonetheless.
37' Chance for Tottenham! Alli floats a delicious pass over the top for Son who beats Leicester's offside trap. Son can't get his feet together and Kane looks to have an easy tap-in only for Soyuncu to nip in first! Kane has his head in his hands. Tottenham have a corner at least.
35' Albrighton picks up the ball deep in midfield and spanks an effort towards goal. It swerves towards the right-hand post and Lloris gets across to keep it out. It wasn't a huge test for the Tottenham goalkeeper but it would have looked incredible had it gone in.
33' Ndidi brings down Alli in Leicester's half. Tottenham are huffing and puffing without creating a whole lot.
31' Thomas' pass inside for Maddison is intercepted by Doherty and Tottenham counter. Unfortunately for them it doesn't lead to anything as Leicester rush back to shut the door.
29' Kane drops deep to find Bergwijn who holds off the challenge of Thomas. Soyuncu arrives on the scene to help his young teammate out. Anyway, Bergnwijn is offside.
27' What a miss by Iheanacho! Reguilon hands the ball straight to the Nigerian with a slack backpass and Iheanacho slices wide. The linesman spares Iheanacho's blushes anyway as he appeared to have handled the ball.
25' Alderweireld attacks Son's corner at the near post but Leicester get a head to it first.
24' Tottenham liven up a bit, trying to force their way into Leicester's box. Eventually the visitors manage to win a corner.
22' Vardy's goal, by the way, was the 25th penalty he's scored in the Premier League. The 34-year-old remains one of the league's best strikers.
N. Mendy
W. Fofana
21' Leicester are forced into an early substitution. Mendy replaces Fofana who trudges off the pitch.
20' Leicester go on the attack again and Sanchez recovers well to hold off Vardy in the penalty area. Meanwhile Fofana is down injured and receiving treatment. It looks like the young defender will be unable to carry on.
Penalty Goal
18' GOAL! LEICESTER CITY 1-0 TOTTENHAM! Vardy steps up and calmly slots the penalty to Lloris' right. That's exactly the start that Leicester need.
16' PENALTY FOR LEICESTER! The referee decides Vardy was unfairly caught by Alderweireld and points to the spot. The ex-England striker will now have the chance to give Leicester the lead...
15' Vardy cuts across Tottenham's penalty area and thinks he's won a penalty as he's caught by Alderweireld. Play continues. Vardy heads over from Albrighton's cross shortly after. VAR advises the referee to watch the incident again...
14' Bergwijn sends a promising cross towards Alli from the right. Schmeichel is alert and beats Alli to it.
12' Alli races Castagne for a ball down Spurs' left and snatches the ball off the Belgian, thinking Tottenham have won the throw-in. The referee rules otherwise.
11' Tielemans sends the corner in but Soyuncu is penalised for impeding the run of Winks.
10' Iheanacho skips over a challenge and finds Maddison whose curler from outside the box is headed out for a corner.
8' Leicester's corner finds Soyuncu at the far post. The Turkish centre-back nods back across goal but Lloris catches it without difficulty.
7' Maddison slips in Vardy and Vardy succeeds in winning Leicester a corner. It's been quite an even game so far.
5' Tielemans floats a cross towards the far post from the outside of the box but Doherty wins the header against Vardy. Leicester need to score as many goals as possible to put a dent in Liverpool's favourable goal difference.
4' Tottenham have started the game brightly. Son nearly latches onto Alli's throughball into the box only for Fofana to muscle him out of the way. Leicester get the goal-kick.
2' Tottenham keep the ball in their half before Son latches onto a direct ball from the back. The South Korean waits for support before rattling a shot into a defender who takes the sting out of it. Schmeichel easily claims the deflection.
1' Tottenham get this final day game underway!
The two sides are out on the pitch at the King Power Stadium where there are thankfully fans smattered around. Leicester are wearing their preferred colours, as are Tottenham. Let's do this!
Leicester have beaten Tottenham in two of their last three league meetings and are looking to complete their first league double over Spurs since 1998-99. Tottenham have failed to score in just one of their last 14 Premier League away games against Leicester, but they've also kept just two clean sheets in those games. Whatever happens, there should be goals in this one.
There's just the one change to Leicester from their 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge as Iheanacho returns to the starting line-up. Tottenham have two changes in defence from their 2-1 home defeat to Aston Villa midweek. Doherty and Sanchez come in for the benched Dier and injured Japhet Tanganga.
SUBS: Carlos Vinicius, Nile John, Dane Scarlett, Gareth Bale, Joe Hart, Eric Dier, Erik Lamela, Joe Rodon, Lucas Moura.
TOTTENHAM (4-2-3-1): Hugo Lloris (c); Matt Doherty, Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld, Sergio Reguilon; Harry Winks, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg; Steven Bergwijn, Dele Alli, Son Heung-Min; Harry Kane.
SUBS: Nampalys Mendy, Ricardo Pereira, Dennis Praet, Christian Fuchs, Hamza Choudhury, Danny Ward, Ayoze Perez, Daniel Amartey, Wes Morgan.
LEICESTER CITY (3-4-1-2): Kasper Schmeichel (c); Timothy Castagne, Wesley Fofana, Caglar Soyuncu; Marc Albrighton, Youri Tielemans, Wilfred Ndidi, Luke Thomas; James Maddison; Kelechi Iheanacho, Jamie Vardy.
Leicester will hope to rack up the goals against seventh-placed Tottenham whose best hopes now are of a Europa League place. While this is surely interim boss Ryan Mason's last game in charge of Spurs, he'll be keen to leave them in the best shape possible for a much-needed summer rebuild, possibly without Harry Kane.
For the second year in a row Leicester have had a great league campaign that could end in disappointment. Brendan Rodgers' FA Cup winners have spent longer in the top four this term than any other side, only to drop to fifth midweek below a resurgent Liverpool. Leicester's Champions League hopes remain just about alive, but they're probably going to need a bit of help from elsewhere.
Hello! Welcome to our live text commentary of this Premier League final day match between Leicester City and Tottenham at the King Power Stadium.
