Commentary

Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Manchester City face off against Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash at home on Tuesday. Leicester City are next in action in the Premier League next Sunday away to West Ham United.
Manchester City edge closer to the Premier League crown courtesy of a 2-0 win over Leicester City this evening at the King Power Stadium. Pep Guardiola's men were held in check in the first half, but strikes from Benjamin Mendy and Gabriel Jesus after the interval secured the three points for the visitors. It means that the Citizens require only 11 more points to reclaim the top-flight crown with seven games remaining in their campaign. Leicester remain in third place in the table after being outplayed by the league leaders.

S. Agüero

Goal
58' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!! MENDY PUTS CITY AHEAD!!!!!!! 1-0!!!! The Frenchman displays composure in the final third to bend an effort into the bottom-right corner. Mahrez causes havoc in the box before seeing a blast saved by Schmeichel. The ball travels out to Rodri to deliver a cross to the back post. Tielemans attempts to clear, but it lands at the feet of Mendy. He beats the challenge of Albrighton before placing a right-footed strike past Schmeichel.
56' BLOCK! Aguero latches on to a deep cross from Jesus, but his strike on the half-volley is deflected wide of the target by Castagne.
55' Jesus charges into the box in the left inside channel, but he cannot find space to shoot even with the aid of Rodri. Fofana and Amartey are then to close down the City duo and the Foxes are awarded a free-kick.
54' Walker latches on to a ball over the top and he drills a cross to the near post, but Schmeichel is there to claim ahead of Jesus.
51' BLOCK! Fernandinho loses out in the middle of the park and Iheanacho brings the ball forward for the Foxes. He offloads to Tielemans on the charge, but Dias produces an excellent block on the slide to divert it past the right post.
50' City win a free-kick in the Leicester half on the right flank. De Bruyne angles a dangerous cross to the back post, but Dias and Rodri both fail to guide efforts towards goal.
49' Tielemans runs away from Fernandinho and Mendy to strike a left-footed effort towards the net. However, his attempt is tame and easy for Ederson to collect.
48' De Bruyne and Jesus combine to try to release Aguero in the final third, but Fofana applies the pressure to quell the opening for the Argentine.
46' We're back underway at the King Power Stadium.
City have been dominant in terms of possession in the first half, but lacked the clinical edge to take the lead. They've come close through De Bruyne and Mahrez, but they need to up the ante to break down the stubborn Leicester rearguard.
It's goalless at the break in the Premier League clash between Leicester City and Manchester City. Both teams have had goals disallowed as Fernandinho's effort was chalked off when Sergio Aguero was in an offside position. Jamie Vardy was then offside as he collected an offload before slotting a strike home. Kevin De Bruyne struck the bar for the visitors, while Kasper Schmeichel denied Riyad Mahrez. The visitors have been on top, but the deadlock has not been broken at the King Power Stadium.
45' + 2' HALF-TIME: LEICESTER CITY 0-0 MANCHESTER CITY
45' + 1' DISALLOWED GOAL! Vardy sees an effort chalked off just before the interval. Perez threads the needle to release the forward and he rounds Ederson to slot his strike into an empty net. However, the flag is up as Vardy moves a fraction too soon.
45' There will be one minute of added time.

40' Although City have dominated possession, they've not been dominant in the final third. Schmeichel has been relatively untroubled other than De Bruyne's strike from a free-kick that rattled the bar.
38' De Bruyne collects in space and has team-mates in support, but his distribution for once is poor and he puts too much pace on his offload towards Jesus in the left inside channel.
36' Iheanacho tries to get in behind Laporte to latch on to Ndidi's throughball, but the Nigerian fouls the City defender on the edge of the box in his desperation to reach the offload.
34' BLOCK! Fofana is in the right place at the right time for the home side to repel Rodri's poked effort at goal after Jesus caused a nuisance in the box.
W. Ndidi
Yellow Card
32' Ndidi brings down De Bruyne on the charge in the City half and goes into the book.
31' The only time this season that Leicester City's possession has been less than in the opening 30 minutes today (30.2%), was in the reverse fixture in September (28.33%).
29' Albrighton floats the free-kick into the box, but Ederson charges off his line and claims the cross with ease. That is not what Rodgers wanted to see.
28' Fernandinho slips and brings down Perez in the City half. A moment of respite for the Foxes to attempt to turn momentum in their favour.
27' Jesus is played down the left inside channel by Mahrez. The Brazilian goes for the cutback, but he fails to pick out Aguero in the middle as Schmeichel smothers at the near post.
24' Leicester have been penned back inside their own half by the brilliance of the visitors on the ball. There's no way to ease the pressure for the Foxes.
22' OFF THE BAR! De Bruyne lines up the strike from the free-kick. The Belgian powers an effort over the wall, only to see the ball clatter off the bar and bounce away from the net. Laporte tries to keep the pressure on, but his cutback is cleared.
20' Fernandinho slides a pass to De Bruyne, who gets clipped by Ndidi before firing over the bar. The referee goes back to the foul and awards a free-kick to the visitors.
18' OVER! Mahrez closes down Castagne and the ball loops towards Aguero in the box. He takes on a strike with it travelling over his shoulder, but he slices his left-footed effort over the bar.
15' Mendy drops his shoulder to get the better of Albrighton, but his cross just does not fall for Mahrez in the right inside channel.
13' De Bruyne slides a low ball down the right flank for the run of Mahrez. He goes for the cutback towards the near post, but Evans is there to clear.
11' The contest has been a tactical one in the early stages. City are attempting a possession game to play through the home side.
9' Ndidi tries to arc a long ball over the top for Iheanacho to chase, but Laporte makes a good intervention to quell the danger.
7' City are getting on the ball in the early stages to pressure the Foxes. However, the wall of blue shirts are defending stoutly on the edge of their own box.
5' DISALLOWED GOAL! Fernandino rifles the ball home from 25 yards with a crisp volley. However, the visitors are denied as Aguero is in an offside position as he blocks the sight of Schmeichel.
4' Vardy gets the better of Walker and wins possession in the middle of the park. De Bruyne gets back, but fouls the forward on the Leicester left flank.
2' Perez collects in the final third and tries to lift a ball through to Vardy, but he succeeds in finding only Ederson.
1' We're underway at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester are looking to complete their first league double over Manchester City since the 1986-87 season, following their 5-2 win at the Etihad earlier this season.
Manchester City have made six changes to their side that beat Everton in their last outing. Ederson replaces Zack Steffen between the posts, while Oleksandr Zinchenko drops out of the side for Mendy. Rodri slots alongside Fernandinho in front of the back four. Aguero leads the line, despite confirming that he will not renew his deal with the club at the end of the season. Mahrez and De Bruyne also earn the starts in the final third. Stones and Sterling start from the bench after their exploits for England during the international break.
Leicester have made one change to their side from their FA Cup win over Manchester United last time out. Caglar Soyuncu is out after being forced to self-isolate due to an outbreak of Covid-19 in the Turkey squad while he was on international duty. Amartey slots into the back three to replace the defender. Rodgers maintains a front three of Vardy, Iheanacho and Perez, despite Maddison's return from a hip injury.

Manchester City will look to continue their march towards the Premier League crown with another victory this afternoon. Pep Guardiola's men recovered from the bump in the road in their defeat to Manchester United, easing past Southampton and Fulham. They overcame Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League and Everton in the FA Cup to keep their pursuit of the quadruple alive. Another quality outing is required to edge the Citizens closer to the title.
Leicester had built up momentum before the international break, reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup and stringing together back-to-back Premier League wins. The Foxes defeated Brighton and Hove Albion and Sheffield United to move one point behind Manchester United in second place in the table. The club are on course to finish in the top four, but there is still plenty of work ahead for Brendan Rodgers and his team.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League match between Leicester City and Manchester City at the King Power Stadium.
