Wrexham legend Paul Mullin sends farewell message to Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's side after sealing switch to Wigan

Mullin has issued a farewell to Wrexham on Instagram after sealing a loan move to Wigan Athletic after a season in which he was limited to just nine starts in League One. He scored three goals in that time, but will now aim to get back to playing regularly after confirming his exit from the Welsh club.

Since joining Wrexham, when they were a non-league club, he has fired them up the leagues, scoring 105 goals in 165 games as they rose up to the second-tier. Now, he will aim to help fire Wigan back into the Championship; they finished 15th last season.

Mullin wrote: "All the very best to everyone at Wrexham this season, keep the train rolling."

Wrexham will go in search of a fourth successive promotion that would propel them into the Premier League, as Wigan hope to reach the Championship with Mullin.
