WHAT HAPPENED?
Heading into the clash against the German champions, the Red Devils knew that they had to win and hope that Copenhagen vs Galatasaray ended with a favourable result. However, they failed to grab a win and were knocked out in last place in the group. After that disappointment, the Dutch coach, as per the Daily Mail, told the United players that the league was 'still a great target,' and the situation could change very quickly for the squad if they worked towards it.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
The elimination meant that United were confirmed to have gone 15 straight years without winning the premier European club title. Things haven't been too good for Ten Hag domestically either. They currently sit seventh in the Premier League, five points off Tottenham Hotspur in fourth.
