'I know him well' - Viktor Gyokeres expected to join Man Utd over Arsenal as singer Tom Grennan reveals in-demand striker is 'best friends' with Erling Haaland

Gyokeres' future is one of the biggest talking points of the summer, with Ruben Amorim's side and the Gunners said to be interested in signing him from Sporting. Coventry fan Grennan knows Gyokeres from his days at the club and and revealed why he expects United to get the deal done.

Speaking on BBC podcast You About?, Grennan said: "I know him well. I actually messaged him and he said that there's different conversations going on. Do you know who his best friend is? Haaland. That is why I think he'll go to Manchester United because he'll be next door to Haaland."

It was reported on Monday that Gyokeres is furious with Sporting for going back on their promise to sell him for €60 million this summer, with the club now insisting on an €80m fee. He removed all references to Sporting in his social bios.

A move to United is perhaps the more likely of the two main Premier League options for Gyokeres, with Arsenal said to be prioritising RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko.
