  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The West Ham head coach cut a frustrated figure after a second straight heavy loss in the Premier League, backing up their opening day 3-0 defeat at Sunderland last weekend. And when one reporter tried to chime in with another question, the former Blues boss quickly shut him down.

  • WHAT POTTER SAID

At his post-match press conference, he said: "You can say whatever you want, Jacob. Whenever you want it."

When another journalist piped up, Potter cut across him by saying: "I thought that was your last question, there's a lot of other people here that might want to ask a question."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Despite only being two games into the season, Potter is under serious pressure to keep his job. The 50-year-old has taken fewer points (two wins) from his first 10 home games in the Premier League than any manager in West Ham's history. A win percentage of just under 24 maynot keep him in his role for much longer.

  • WHAT NEXT?

Potter will hope West Ham can bounce back from these defeats when they begin their Carabao Cup campaign on Tuesday away to Wolves.

The ex-Brighton head coach added: "You're under pressure all the time in these jobs, in this situation, that's how it is. I know the territory, I know what comes with poor results, and I accept my responsibility. I don't want to say it's a lack of fight because I know the players care and I know the players desperately want to do well."
