The Portuguese forward missed the Riyadh Season Cup clash through injury, and was initially joined by eternal rival Messi on the sidelines before he came on as a second-half substitute. Ronaldo watched the action unfold from the stands, though, not the substitutes bench, and could be seen laughing and joking as his side absolutely pummelled their MLS opponents.

Supporters across the globe were heartbroken when it was revealed the Portugal international couldn't feature, and would have been similarly gutted when Messi failed to start the match. However, that disappointment likely won't compare to that felt by Miami fans, as they saw their side wholly thrashed in Riyadh. A hat-trick from Anderson Talisca plus goals from Otavio, Mohammed Maran and an absolute screamer from Aymeric Laporte sealed a 6-0 rout for the Saudis.

The iconic footballing duo continue their very differing form at their respective clubs. Despite being just a friendly clash, Thursday's result marks Al-Nassr's sixth win in a row across all competitions. Miami, meanwhile, are yet to record a victory since September 2023 under boss Tata Martino.
