USMNT star Weston McKennie to break Douglas Luiz & Alisha Lehmann bond? Exchange deal involving Juventus & Aston Villa midfielders speculated on

The United States international has rebuilt his reputation at Juventus on the back of a forgettable loan spell at Leeds in the 2022-23 campaign. He suffered relegation out of the Premier League at Elland Road, but starred in Turin when returning to Italy.

McKennie has just 12 months left to run on his contract at Juve, with no extension agreed as yet, and that has generated plenty of exit talk with another recruitment window swinging open. He has been linked with teams across Europe, including a number in England.

Villa are said to be one of his many suitors – as they prepare to join the Champions League ranks in 2024-25 – and Gianluca Di Marzio claims that a part-exchange deal is being considered. Juve are keen on Brazil international Luiz and would be willing to offer McKennie as part of a deal for the €60 million-rated (£51m/$65m) South American.

The Bianconeri would need to top that deal up as McKennie, with his expiring terms taken into account, is only valued at around €25m (£21m/$27m). It remains to be seen whether a move interests all parties, as a switch to the Allianz Stadium would take Luiz away from Swiss beau and fellow Villa star Lehmann.
