USMNT star Josh Sargent is back! Norwich striker nets stunning goal on return from injury after six-month layoff

The United States men's national team star had an instant impact on the game as he scored the equalising just 12 minutes after coming on as a substitute for Hwang Ui-jo. The striker followed a through ball from Jonathan Rowe and entered the penalty box before slotting the ball home comfortably between the legs of a Southampton defender.

The 23-year-old suffered a ligament in August which kept him out of action for a very long time. He rejoined last week before making it to The Canaries' matchday squad on Monday. Sargent has appeared in seven matches across all competitions in the ongoing season where he scored four times and provided one assist.

The player's return to action is not just a massive boost for the club but for USMNT as well. The O'Fallon-born player is expected to make it to the USA squad alongside Folarin Balogun and Ricardo Pepi for the 2024 Olympics.

David Wagner's side are currently 13th in the league table with 35 points in 26 outings. They will next take on Bristol Rovers in an FA Cup third-round clash on Saturday.
