  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Greenwood has been in top form for Marseille since his move to France from Manchester United last summer. He is currently Ligue 1's second-highest scorer this season, behind Paris Saint-Germain's Ousmane Dembele, with 15 goals in 25 matches. However, the 23-year-old was not able to bring forth his form off the bench for Marseille on Saturday, as they lost 1-0 to Lens.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Greenwood came on as a half-time substitute in place of Amar Dedic for Roberto De Zerbi's Marseille; however, thanks to his no-show, L'Equipe tore into the forward and awarded Greenwood a rating of two out of 10. Additionally, the report also called the ex-United forward 'unrecognizable' and compared his performance to 'a shadow.'

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Greenwood had reportedly been dropped to the bench against Lens by De Zerbi because he had not felt 100 per cent ahead of the game. As such, it is possible that his rare no-show at Stade Velodrome could be down to a lack of match sharpness.

    WHAT NEXT FOR GREENWOOD?

Marseille are set to come up against Ligue 1 champions-elect Paris Saint-Germain on March 16 at Parc des Princes and it is likely that Greenwood will be a starter on the night.
