Boehly has lost power since the takeover and only has a 12.8% stake of Chelsea, while Clearlake owns a majority 61.5% stake in the club. Tensions between the two parties have been rising but it's believed Boehly would have to find another "£2-3 billion" to buy out Eghbali. Boehly has now been asked if would wants an enhanced role at the club and appears happy with his current situation.
WHAT BOEHLY SAID
He told the Qatar Economic Forum: "Increase my role? I think chairman is a pretty good one! I can't play! Maybe I'll go as striker, see how the fans think about that!"
Chelsea will be aiming for a big finish to the 2024-25 season. The Blues take on Real Betis in the final of the Conference League and take on Nottingham Forest in their final Premier League game, knowing a victory will secure Champions League football for next season.
