  • WHAT HAPPENED?

According to a report from The Sun, Real Madrid would be willing to sell Rodrygo this summer if an offer worth at least £85 million (€100m/$112m) arrives. The report adds that there has been interest from the Premier League, with Madrid looking to raise funds for squad reinforcements in the summer.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Since Kylian Mbappe's arrival for free last summer, Rodrygo has gone a bit under the radar. Having lesser attacking responsibilities has also affected his output, which has seen the 24-year-old become significantly less consistent. The Sun reported that Arsenal and Manchester United are keen to make a statement signing ahead of next season, but the latter are apparently leading the race.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Media reports from Spain mention that Rodrygo himself wants to close his chapter at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer and move to another team. The Brazilian winger is unhappy with lack of appreciation shown for him at the club, with much of the spotlight being shared by Mbappe, Vinicius Jr, and Jude Bellingham. The only way Rodrygo's mind could change is if the Carlo Ancelotti's successor, widely tipped to be Xabi Alonso, goes to extreme lengths to convince the player of his plans.

    WHAT NEXT FOR RODRYGO?

The two-time Champions League winner will be expected to be named in the starting XI for Real Madrid in the next game, where they face Celta Vigo at home on Sunday, May 3.
