Pogba joined on a two-year deal as a free agent after serving his 18-month doping ban. The 2018 World Cup winner last played a competitive game two years ago in September 2023, when he was a Juventus player. The Frenchman is working up his fitness and it is expected that he will be available for selection sometime in October.
On the other hand, Fati joined from Barcelona after injuries caught up to him in Spain. The Barca academy graduate had a stellar introduction to the football world as he became one of Barca's best players as a teenager. But, the 22-year-old has been unfortunate with injury struggles, which prompted the Catalans to offload him. Like Pogba, Fati, too, is yet to make his debut for Monaco. He will return to training immediately after the international break.
Back in August, Hutter clearly stated that Pogba and Fati will not be rushed into the team dynamics as their fitness remains the utmost priority. The duo missed the entire pre-season, but could end up playing pivotal roles this season.
