Had a quiet first half as Pirates dominated the game and camped in Royal's half. Ofori then had an eventful second half coming out to deal well with crosses as Bucs were bombarded with aerial balls. However, he was well-beaten when Thabo Matlaba and Mfundo Thikazi scored.

Richard Ofori - 5.5/10

Started well as he pushed forward and combined well with Thembinkosi Lorch. However, this changed after the restart as Thikazi tormented&nbsp;Shandu who became the weak link in the Pirates defence. He was substituted&nbsp;with seven minutes left.

Bandile Shandu - 5.5/10

Looked solid defensively.&nbsp; Maela did not offer too much of an attacking threat but held his defensive fort well, making vital interceptions and solid tackles. He also won most of his aerial duels.&nbsp;

Innocent Maela - 6/10

Continued his good form for the Buccaneers.&nbsp; Ndah put up a stellar display at the heart of the Pirates defence. He was on hand to mop up any loose balls when Thwihli Thwahla pushed forward and put his body on the line when the need arose. He was deservedly named Man of the Match.

Olisa Ndah - 7.5/10

Recalled to the starting line-up replacing Happy Jele. Nyauza wasn't&nbsp;seriously tested in the first half, but he failed to inspire Pirates with his leadership as his teammates lost the plot in the second half. His positioning was also questionable at times.

Ntsikelelo Nyauza - 5/10

Very effective in his role of shielding the defence. Motshwari won back possession with some well-timed tackles and distributed the ball with aplomb. This forced Royal to attack through the wings.

Ben Motshwari - 6.5/10

Worked hard in the middle of the park. Mosele's distribution helped Pirates control proceedings in the first half and he also dropped back to help his teammates defend after the restart when Bucs were under pressure.&nbsp;

Goodman Mosele - 6/10

Playing some of his best football at the moment. Lorch was industrious on the night and did not give the Royal defenders any breathing space. He had a hand in both Pirates goals including an assist for the opening goal.&nbsp;

Thembinkosi Lorch - 7/10

Just like most of his teammates, he started well.&nbsp; Hotto was a livewire in the left-wing timing his runs into the Royal box very well which saw him open the scoring before providing the assist for the second goal. However, his influence waned after the restart.

Deon Hotto - 6/10

Struggled to make an impact as a playmaker. Dlamini dropped deep to try and influence proceedings but was largely ineffectual. He was substituted just after the hour-mark.

Kabelo Dlamini - 5/10

Looked sharp. His movement created problems for the Royal defence in the first half.&nbsp; Peprah got himself in good positions in the hosts' box which saw him score Bucs' second goal. However, he was largely on the peripheries after the restart and he was substituted.

Kwame Peprah - 6/10

Introduced in the 61st minute and he was totally anonymous as he barely touched the ball with Bucs under pressure.

Fortune Makaringe - 5/10

Looked like a shell of himself after coming on in the 73rd minute as he failed to win back possession in midfield.&nbsp;

Abel Mabaso - 5/10

Looked frustrated upfront with a lack of service from the midfield having been introduced in the 73rd minute.

Terrence Dzvukamanja - 5/10

Failed to close down Shaune Mogaila when the Royal star delivered the cross which led to the equalising goal having been introduced in the 83rd minute.

Happy Jele - 4.5/10

Also introduced with seven minutes left and he was nowhere to be seen when Thikazi scored from his flank.

Wayde Jooste - 4.5/10
