  • Alex Iwobi

    Alex Iwobi

Everton’s new boy didn’t come off the bench in their 1-0 win over Watford last time out, but could feature in some capacity at Aston Villa on Friday night.

Marco Silva’s troops are unbeaten this season, having done so with successive clean sheets, and it’ll be interesting to see if they can sustain that against Dean Smith's winless, but prolific, side at Villa Park.

  • Wilfred Ndidi- Leicester City 2019-20

    Wilfred Ndidi

After making a mistake in Leicester City’s concession of a goal at Chelsea, Ndidi didn’t let his head drop and got the visiting Foxes a deserved equalizer as it ended 1-1 at Stamford Bridge.

While Brendan Rodgers’ side are still winless after two gameweeks, they’d hope to be third-time lucky when they visit new boys Sheffield United.

Ndidi is expected to feature against the Blades from the off, but Kelechi Iheanacho, who was an unused substitute at the Bridge, is unlikely to start at Bramall Lane.

  • Tammy Abraham Chelsea

    Tammy Abraham

It’s not been the best of returns to Chelsea for Frank Lampard and Abraham.

The Blues legend remains winless as head coach, while Abraham has had to endure disgusting abuse and criticism over his ability to lead the line for the West London club and his missed penalty in the Uefa Super Cup defeat by Liverpool.

On Saturday lunchtime, the five-time Premier League champions will head to Norwich City seeking their first league win of the campaign.

It remains to be seen if Lampard will give the 21-year-old frontman a starting berth or substitute's role as the giants aim to avoid a giant-killing against Daniel Farke’s free-scoring outfit.

  • Semi Ajayi - Rotherham United

    Semi Ajayi

A late Kenneth Zohore penalty against Reading on Wednesday night preserved West Bromwich Albion’s unbeaten start to the campaign.

Ajayi is likely to continue at the heart of the defence when The Albion travel to Derby County on Saturday.

Even though Slaven Bilic’s team are winless at The Hawthorns, they have a 100 percent record on their travels (with 2-1 wins over Nottingham Forest and Luton Town), and could fancy themselves against the Rams at Pride Park.

  • Kenneth Omeruo_Leganes

    Kenneth Omeruo

After his strong end to last season, Omeruo might have been disappointed that he was an unused substitute in Leganes’ season opener against Osasuna.

Mauricio Pellegrino’s team will have to perform better than last week’s 1-0 loss when they host Atletico Madrid in gameweek two. Atleti have the upper hand in this fixture, having gone unbeaten in six successive league games between the sides since 2016.

Chidozie Awaziem might have to sit this one out as Pellegrini eases him into the side, but he may have done enough to secure a place among the substitutes.

  • Samuel Chukwueze - Villarreal 2019-20

    Samuel Chukwueze

The Villarreal wideman was among the goals in a pulsating 4-4 draw with Granada last week.

The Yellow Submarine face off with Levante in the second week of the campaign searching for maximum points at the Frogs’ expense.

Having let a two-goal lead slip last time out, Javier Calleja will demand Chukwueze and co. get the job done this time around.

  • William Troost-Ekong - Parma vs Udinese, Serie A, August 19

    William Troost-Ekong

Udinese have been handed a tough start to the season, as they welcome AC Milan to Dacia Arena on Sunday evening.

Having featured prominently for the Little Zebras last season, Troost-Ekong is expected to feature from the off against Gennaro Gattuso’s side.

The Udine-based club haven’t won this fixture since January 2017, and could spring a surprise given the unpredictability of opening weekends.

  • Ola Aina

    Ola Aina

Given the impressive nature of his temporary spell in the previous campaign, it came as no surprise that Torino secured the signature of Aina from Chelsea on a permanent deal.

The wing-back has featured in The Bull’s Europa League qualification campaign, and could play a part when Walter Mazzarri’s troops welcome Sassuolo to the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on Sunday.

After May’s exciting five-goal thriller between the sides, which the Maroons won 3-2, another entertaining encounter could be on the cards.

  • Samuel Kalu, Bordeaux

    Samuel Kalu

Even though Bordeaux could only draw 1-1 with Montpellier last weekend, which means they’ve now won just one of their last nine Ligue 1 games, Kalu put in a better performance than in gameweek one’s 3-1 defeat by Angers.

The attacker is likely to retain his place in Paulo Sousa’s side for the Girondins’ trip to Dijon on Saturday night.

Owing to the fact that the hosts are winless in their opening two fixtures, Kalu and his teammates will be positive about their chances of inflicting a third consecutive loss on their opponents.
