'Is he taking the f*cking piss?!' - New Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim takes plenty of heat as he DROPS in-form attackers Amad Diallo & Marcus Rashford for Arsenal showdown

Rashford and Amad starred for United in their 4-0 win over Everton at the weekend, but both were named on the bench by Amorim for Wednesday's trip to Arsenal. Alejandro Garnacho and Mason Mount started behind Rasmus Hojlund while Tyrell Malacia was picked at left wing-back for his first Premier League start since May 2023.

The decision to drop Amad and Rashford confused plenty of United supporters off the back of Sunday's showing, especially as Arsenal's defence was short-handed with both Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori missing through injury.

"Amad and Rashy benched. Amorim is one ballsy mf," wrote @__Trail3.

A confused @dreafanclub added: "Not starting Rashford and Amad at the EMIRATES is crazy Amorim I’m not on board with this one sorry."

"Benching Amad and Rashford our 2 best attackers is just nasty work. ESPECIALLY Rashford vs Big 6," said @jr_fundss, while @Gideoomatic wrote: "I like that he's making use of the whole squad but Rashford and Amad on the bench looks like a potential stinker."

@HatHardOn complained: "Amorim dropping United's form players Rashford and Amad against Arsenal, is he taking the f*cking piss? Rashford really dangerous player with his pace on the counter. F*cking idiot."

Meanwhile, @ftblTheo_ said: "Why is Amad being rested? When I was 22 I was playing 3 matches a day 2 in the morning and 1 in the evening and yet here we are 'resting' our best player."

It's clear Amorim wants to assess his entire squad and learn more about his new players, though the Emirates Stadium hardly seems the ideal setting for rotation.
