  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Jota and his brother, Andre, died in a road accident while travelling through Spain to catch a ferry to England. The tragic incident occurred after their vehicle suffered a tyre blowout, veering off the road. Both were laid to rest in their hometown of Gondomar on July 5, with Liverpool’s staff and squad in attendance.

    Liverpool suspended regular programming on LFC TV following Jota’s passing, replacing it with a solemn on-screen tribute. The club described Jota’s death as 'an unimaginable loss' and offered full support to his loved ones. The forward’s influence, both on the pitch and in the dressing room, has been deeply felt during this period of mourning.

    LFC TV is now set to resume broadcasting again, starting on Monday, with a poignant hour-long special, ‘Remembering Diogo: Our Number 20', in tribute to Jota. LFC TV’s special will honour Jota’s legacy, featuring tributes, highlights and heartfelt memories from Anfield.

    Liverpool's statement read: "We will honour and celebrate the life of Diogo Jota in a special remembrance programme from 6pm BST today. It can be watched live, and subsequently on demand, on liverpoolfc.com, via the club's social media channels, on YouTube, All Red Video and LFCTV."

    The tribute show will air live at 6pm BST on Monday, available for free online and on YouTube.
