Getty/GOALTHE BIGGER PICTURE
Barca and Madrid, easily the top two Spanish clubs, have been at a war of words with the league president over the past 12 months. Indeed, Tebas labelled Madrid a "crying club" over their ceaseless attacks towards the officiating, not to mention his scathing criticism of president Florentino Perez.
On the other hand, Barcelona have accused Tebas of representing "a clear attempt at destabilisation that is unacceptable" following their constant back-and-forth over the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. The Catalans' pursuit of Williams is no longer a secret, but Tebas has repeatedly rung the bell about Barca's financial situation, stating that the Liga champions have yet to reach the 1:1 rule.

It has been reported that the Blaugrana will trigger Williams' release clause in the coming days, while the possibility of signing Marcus Rashford from Manchester United still remains. However, lack of registration guarantees and financial constraints could perhaps jeopardise the 22-year-old's departure from Bilbao.
