  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Mbappe failed to impress on his La Liga debut with Madrid as Carlo Ancelotti's champions were held to a draw at Real Mallorca. The French superstar failed to find the back of the net at Son Moix and was criticised by supporters for his underwhelming display. Ancelotti gave his players two days off after the game and Mbappe has joined Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo on a luxury yacht in Marbella, according to El Desmarque. The trio are splashing out 15,000 (£12,800/$16k) a day to rent the vessel which measures 50 metres and features swimming pools and jacuzzis.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Ancelotti admitted it's "clear where the problem is" after seeing his side stumble at Mallorca. The Italian highlighted how his team lacked balance with Mbappe joining Vinicius and Rodrygo in his starting XI. All three players favour taking up a position on the left of the attack which means Madrid have work to do to find a way for the trio to produce their best football together.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Madrid's draw against Mallorca means it's the first time in six seasons they have failed to win their opening game of a league campaign under Ancelotti.
