    The World Cup winner inherited No.9 at Santiago Bernabeu when becoming another ‘Galactico’ in the Spanish capital during the summer of 2024. He took that jersey from fellow Frenchman Karim Benzema - who had departed Madrid a year earlier.

    Mbappe was asked to lead the line for the Blancos, as he was shifted inside from his favoured position on the left flank. Vinicius Junior fills that role for Real, while also donning their No.7 shirt - the number that Mbappe wore with distinction at Paris Saint-Germain.
