Kylian Mbappe allegedly calls Luis Enrique a ‘son of a b*tch’ after substitution against Marseille as PSG boss gives training ground speech reaffirming authority

The World Cup-winning forward is a talismanic presence at Parc des Princes, as the club’s all-time leading goalscorer. He is, however, running his contract down towards free agency and is expected to swap the French capital for Madrid when taking on a new challenge this summer.

Luis Enrique has taken to forcing bench duty upon Mbappe as questions continue to be asked of his future, with the 25-year-old replaced in the 64th minute of a 2-0 win away at Marseille last time out. He had not enjoyed the best of games up to that point, but was still disappointed to see No.7 held up when changes were made just past the hour mark.

According to Footmercato, Mbappe allegedly insulted his manager when making his way off the field – with the France international heading straight to the dressing room before posting a sulky message on social media.

Luis Enrique claims to be unaware of any words aimed in his direction, with the Spanish tactician saying when asked about Mbappe’s reaction to being hauled off: “I didn’t see anything. Nothing at all. He was unhappy when he left? For what? It's the same music, every single week. It's so boring. I am the manager. I make decisions every day, every week. I am going to the same until my last day in Paris. I always try to find the best solution for my team. Maybe I am wrong, but I think I am right.”

That message has reportedly been reiterated on the training ground. During Monday’s session in Paris, Enrique is said to reminded his players of the need to put egos to one side. He has pointed out that selection calls are his to make and that he is the only irreplaceable figure until president Nasser Al-Khelaifi decides that a change in the dugout is required.
