Is USMNT star Weston McKennie injured? Update on Juventus midfielder amid muscle strain fears

The Bianconeri were forced to replace teenage Turkish sensation Kenan Yildiz at half-time during their 2-0 victory over AC Milan, with the youngster revealing that he “felt an adductor issue”. McKennie completed said contest, but also complained of having discomfort in his left leg.

That admission raised immediate concerns, with Juve due to be back in Champions League action against Club Brugge on Tuesday. McKennie was sent for medical tests in a bid to get to the bottom of his supposed fitness issue.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, no tear has been revealed. McKennie is considered to be nursing nothing more than “muscle fatigue” after taking in his 22nd appearance of the season. He will continue to be monitored before any decision is taken on midweek duty in Europe.

McKennie is not expected to be out of Thiago Motta’s thoughts for long, with his versatility being put to good use again at present as he operates in an unfamiliar right-back berth. There is every chance that he will play some part against Brugge as Juve seek to keep themselves in contention for automatic qualification into the Champions League’s last 16.
