According to a report by Gianluca Dimarzio, Inter have made a surprise move for former player and current Parma manager Cristian Chivu as their new coach. The Nerazzurri wanted to sign Cesc Fabregas, but Como have rejected that move. Parma have given Chivu and his entourage permission to negotiate, as they will now look forward to hiring a new coach.
In the 2009-10 season, Chivu won the treble with Inter as a player under the leadership of manager Jose Mourinho. He spent seven years with the club overall, retiring at the end of that spell with three Serie A titles to his name.
