INEOS are considering making up to 200 redundancies and a final decision is expected to be made in the next two weeks, BBC Sport reports. Ratcliffe believes the drastic measure is a necessity to avoid the club going out of business, according toThe Guardian, and cutting back now could be crucial in making the club competitive and profitable within the next two years. Furthermore, the club are considering closing their office in London but they will still have operations running in the English capital so they can continue conducting business with global partners.

INEOS and Ratcliffe have made several controversial decisions since purchasing a stake in the club at the end of 2023, including 250 redundancies among staff and ending Sir Alex Ferguson's ambassadorship. United have posted losses of around £300 million ($373m) over the last three years and the club leaders hope to improve their financial situation by making more cuts. Ratcliffe has defended the divisive decisions, saying that United are "still in the last century" and promised more unpopular calls would be made.

INEOS believe that between 100 and 200 further redundancies would save around £45m ($56m) that could be invested back into Ruben Amorim's first team as the club look to return to the pinnacle of English and European football.

A decision will be made in the coming weeks while United prepare for their upcoming league encounter against Tottenham on Sunday.
