'Try to put me off' - Bayern Munich star Harry Kane responds to Jude Bellingham's attempts to distract him before Champions League semi-final penalty against Real Madrid

After Vinicius Jr. handed Real Madrid the lead at Allianz Arena in the first half of the Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich, Leroy Sane restored parity for the hosts in the 54th minute with a stunning solo effort. Three minutes later, Kane momentarily put his team in front after converting a penalty but Vinicius converted a late spot-kick of his own as Los Blancos held the Bundesliga giants to a draw.

After the match, the England captain claimed that his compatriot and Three Lions team-mate Jude Bellingham tried to distract him by mumbling something while he went to take the spot-kick. The striker, however, ignored the disturbance and comfortably found the back of the net to go level with Kylian Mbappe as the top goalscorer (9) in the Champions League this season.

Speaking to TNT Sports at full-time, the Bayern forward said: "I don't know what he was saying. I saw him mumbling something. Once I'm in that moment, I'm in my zone, trying to block everyone out. I'm sure he was saying something to try to put me off."

Thomas Tuchel's side will be back in action on Saturday in the Bundesliga as they take on VFB Stuttgart in an away fixture. Bellingham and Madrid, meanwhile, face Cadiz this weekend before the pair reconvene for the second leg next Wednesday.
