Erling Haaland emulates Tottenham legend Harry Kane & Man Utd favourite Ruud van Nistelrooy as fit-again Man City hitman bags goal against Spurs

The City hitman netted his first Premier League goa, since scoring in the club's 5-1 defeat at Arsenal on February 2, as he broke the deadlock against Spurs in north London on Wednesday. Haaland marked his return from injury with a 12th-minute strike to put his team in front.

With the goal at Tottenham Hotspur stadium, the Norwegian became only the second player in Premier League history after Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy's to score 20 or more goals in each of his first three seasons in the division. The striker now has 20 goals and three assists in 26 league appearances this term.

Haaland also equalled Spurs legend Kane's record of scoring 10 or more goals at home and 10 or more goals in away fixtures in three consecutive Premier League campaigns.

The Cityzens headed into the break with a one-goal lead. They will hope to retain the advantage and return to winning ways after the loss at Liverpool at the weekend. The reigning champions will be back in action on Saturday as they take on Plymouth Argyle in an FA Cup fifth-round fixture.
