Erik ten Hag told he won’t last the season at Man Utd as Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho rifts shows Dutchman has ‘lost the dressing room’

Ten Hag has struggled this season, with United in sixth place and various players seemingly exiled. Jadon Sancho has been notably cut off from the first-team squad after a highly-publicised row with his manager, while reports claim that the Dutchman's relationship with defender Raphael Varane is almost completely broken. As a result, Jose Enrique, an ex-Liverpool star, believes Ten Hag will be sacked before the season is out.

He told Grosvener Sport: "I do not think Erik ten Hag will finish this season at Manchester United. If they do keep him it will be because they are wanting to stick with a long-term project and they believe that he can change things. But many players within the club are already against him. Raphael Varane is against him and Ten Hag has done a couple of things which haven't gone down well with Jadon Sancho, Antony and Cristiano Ronaldo in the past. All these situations have arisen in a short period of time because he still hasn't been at the club for that long."

United's poor form has seen them slip five points behind fourth-placed Tottenham and Enrique does not see a route for the club to qualify for the Champions League.

The Spaniard added: "I think he has lost the dressing room. I'm not sure how long Manchester United will keep him for but I don't think they have any chance of making the top four this season. The players should still go out and perform regardless, but it's true that when you like the manager you play better for them. You want to win for them as well as for yourself and the fans."

United return to action this weekend against Everton and will be desperate to get another win under their belt, having beaten Luton 1-0 before the international break.
