    THE BIGGER PICTURE

After the game, Jones was reminded of his significant milestone - 100 Premier League appearances for Liverpool. Speaking to BBC Match of the Day, the 23-year-old midfielder shared the details of a heartwarming text from Klopp, who played a pivotal role in shaping his career.

  • WHAT JONES SAID

"I just came in then, we had a talk with the team and I just went on the phone," Jones said, per Optus Sport. "I normally text family and stuff and I saw a text from Klopp, he said ‘congrats on 100 games and here’s to 500 more’ or something like that. I was like what’s he on about, 100? I’m on more than that! But I just checked the Instagram and 100 games, yeah. Proud, really proud."

The midfielder continued: “He is on Instagram so he gets to see it. But that’s what he’s like, he’s still in touch with the whole team. He’s a great man and he’s still loved by us. It was him who set up the team we’ve got now, the foundation was there already and Slot’s just carried it on.”
