Cristiano Ronaldo brings in new security team after family receives threats - with 'intimidating and aggressive' bodyguard appointed to protect CR7 & Georgina Rodriguez

Concerns have been raised regarding Ronaldo’s security in Saudi Arabia, as he turns out for Al-Nassr. A series of alarming threats are said to have been made to Ronaldo and his partner on social media, leading to changes being made to his backroom team.

According to Malaysian news outlet NST, Ronaldo, Georgina and their children have been living a quiet life in the Middle East. Distressing images and messages have, however, been posted online, forcing CR7 to take decisive action.

Georgina Rodriguez has taken to limiting her children’s exposure on social media, which forms part of a wider security strategy. Ronaldo’s former security personnel have been relieved of their duties, with a new chief bodyguard being drafted in.

Marca reports on Claudio Miguel Vaz being that man. He has prior experience of working in problematic neighbourhoods. He has parliamentary training and has previously provided protection for music stars and Portugal internationals such as Rafael Leao and Gelson Martins.

Vaz’s style is said to have raised eyebrows in Ronaldo’s inner circle, as he favours an "intimidating and aggressive" way of working. He made headlines when disrupting photographers during Georgina’s visit to Paris Fashion Week. Five-time Ballon d’Or winner CR7 will also be using his services heading forward.
