Cecafa Kagame Cup 2019: Gor Mahia and the seven other teams in the quarter-finals

    The Democratic Republic of Congo side qualified as winners from Group A after beating KMC of Tanzania and Atlabara of South Sudan. They started the competition with a 1-0 defeat to Rayon Sports of Rwanda, recovered to beat KMC by a solitary goal before pumping in six goals past Atlabara to finish with six points. Mazembe will now face Azam FC of Tanzania in the quarter-finals.

    Rayon Sports of Rwanda

    The Rwandan champions came second in Group A, on the same points as TP Mazembe after they managed two wins and one defeat. Rayon Sports started their campaign with a 1-0 win against TP Mazembe, beat Atlabara of South Sudan 2-0 before they lost their final Group match against KMC. Rayon Sports will face KCCA of Uganda in the quarter-finals.

    KCCA of Uganda

    The Ugandan champions finished on top of Group B after managing two wins and a draw. KCCA drew 1-1 against Kenyan side Bandari in their opener, beat reigning champions Azam FC of Tanzania 1-0 before securing a 2-1 win against Mukura FC of Rwanda. KCCA will now face Rayon Sports of Rwanda in the last eight.

    Azam FC of Tanzania

    Azam FC qualified on the final day after picking up three points to come second in Group B. The Tanzanian side managed a single win against Mukura VA, lost by a solitary goal to Ugandan champions KCCA before snatching a 0-0 draw against Bandari of Kenya, which guaranteed their qualification. Azam will now face TP Mazembe of DR Congo in the quarter-finals.

    APR of Rwanda

    APR finished top of Group C with a maximum nine points after winning all the three matches. The Rwandan side beat Proline of Uganda 1-0, picked up a slim 1-0 win against Green Eagles of Zambia before managing a 4-0 win against Heegan of Somalia. APR will now face AS Maniema from DR Congo in the quarters.

    Green Eagles of Zambia

    Green Eagles, who are taking part as a guest team, finished second in Group C after collecting a total of six points, from two wins and one defeat. The Zambian side won their first match 2-0 against Heegan of Somalia, lost 1-0 against APR before edging out Proline FC  2-1. Eagles will now face Kenyan champions Gor Mahia in the last eight.

    Gor Mahia of Kenya

    Like APR, Gor Mahia reached the last eight with an unbeaten record after winning all three their matches. The Kenyan champions started their campaign with a 2-1 win against AS Maniema, beat AS Ports 2-0 before winding down their Group D matches with a 1-0 win against KMKM. Gor Mahia will now face Green Eagles of Zambia in the quarters.

    Maniema secured their place in the last eight after finishing second in Group D on six points, with two wins and one defeat. The Congolese side lost to Gor Mahia 2-1 in the opener before they recovered to beat KMKM 2-0 and finished their matches with a 2-1 win against AS Ports. Maniema will now face APR in the quarter-finals.
