Foreign stars, who participated in the recently concluded Indian Super League (ISL) 2016, continue to find new clubs abroad. Latest entrants in that list is Wellington Priori and Rafael Coelho, who plied their trades in the ISL for NorthEast United FC and FC Goa respectively.
Wellington Priori, who operated in both the midfield as well as the defence for NorthEast United, has joined Pattaya United in Thailand. The team plays in the first division of Thai football and finished 12th in the league in 2016.
His namesake at the club, Wellington Lima de Gomez, who was a goalkeeper for the John Abraham-owned team, has returned to Portuguese club Marítimo, which plays in the Portuguese top tier - Liga NOS.
In another development, Rafael Coelho, FC Goa's centre forward who ended as the team's top scorer with five goals last season, has also opted to find newer pastures with a Thai club viz. Chiangrai United.
Nicknamed The Beatles, Chiangrai are a first-tier club coached by Alexandre Gama and finished 8th in the Thai League last season.
