Delhi Dynamos has continued their recent player recruitment drive, as they announced the signing of three young Indian players for the forthcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL), on Monday.
Three young Indian players have been snapped up, namely Arjun Tudu, Rupert Nongrum and Chinglesana Singh Konsham. Tudu is a 19 year old striker who played Army XI team last season. He scored 10 goals for Services, helping them retain the Santosh Trophy 2016. Nongrum meanwhile is a midfielder who made his senior debut for I-League side Shillong Lajong last season, while Konsham is a 19 year old central defender who also plies his trade for the North-Eastern side.
Speaking on his franchise's player shopping spree was Head Coach Gianluca Zambrotta who expressed that he had seen videos of the three players and he liked what he saw.
“I am very pleased with the three new players who have come on board. It has always been DDFC’s priority to build a well-balanced team and three new additions just shows it. I have seen videos of these players and found them very talented," Zambrotta said.
Delhi Dynamos President Prashant Agarwal expressed his pleasure at the signings as well.
“We welcome the players to this club and are very pleased to have signed the trio. We want to build a well-balanced team and with these exciting players coming on board, I believe we are heading in the right direction. These are highly capable players and I am quite confident that their contribution for the team will be immense in the upcoming season. We wish them all the best and hope that they will play a huge role in the upcoming season,” Agarwal said.
