Bikramjit Singh has been a vital cog in Zico’s FC Goa over the course of last seasons in the Indian Super League (ISL). However, next season the Brazilian coach wouldn’t have the luxury of calling the Punjab-born midfielder as he shall don the Red and White stripes of Atletico de Kolkata, Goal understands.
The former Pailan Arrows midfielder has won the I-League twice (Churchill Brothers and Mohun Bagan) and also has a Federation Cup title (Churchill Brothers) under his belt. He could go on to win another silverware this weekend should Mohun Bagan defeat Aizawl FC to win the 37th edition of the Federation Cup.
Known for his defensive attributes, his best performance came against Chennaiyin FC when FC Goa downed the Marco Materazzi-coached outfit 2-0 as he completely neutralized the threat of Elano Blumer. Even in the second leg of the semi-finals, he put in a commanding display at the heart of their midfield which enabled them to win 3-1 and progress into the finals.
His addition will certainly bolster Atletico de Kolkata’s squad who have gone for a complete overhaul ahead of the third ISL season.
