The John Abraham co-owned franchise revealed their latest signing on Friday morning. Argentine midfielder Carlos Javier Lopez has penned a season long deal with The Highlanders.

This was after midfielder Kondwani Mtonga suffered an ACL strain and meniscal injury which ruled him out of the competition. The Zambian midfielder suffered an injury during their pe-season friendly against Lansing SC.

Lopez played for the likes of Pachuca in Mexico and Vaduz in Switzerland in his 15-year-long career.

The north east club are yet to rope in a replacement for Boubacar Sanogo who too has been sidelines for the second edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) due to an injury.
