Sporting Clube de Goa, who were beaten by East Bengal in the first match of the I-League, are in advanced talks with experienced campaigners Mehrajuddin Wadoo and Denson Devadas, Goal can reveal.
Mehraj and Denson, who were part of the Chennaiyin FC and FC Goa squad respectively in the second edition of Indian Super League (ISL) were two of the most high-profile names in the list of Indian footballers who struggled to find suitors ahead of the I-League. However, according to Sporting coach Mateus Costa, the duo are expected to join the ranks by the end of this week.
"Yes, we are in talks with the duo. If everything goes well, we expect them on board by the end of the week," Costa told Goal.
On the other hand, Salgaocar have also completed the signing of young striker Thongkhosiem Haokip from Pune FC, with the player looking to seal a place in Stephen Constantine's new look India squad.
