A statement, released on the club's official website, indicated that the recently-turned 17-year-old has suitably impressed the club's management since graduating to scholar level last summer.
"Arsenal are delighted to announce that Benik Afobe has signed professional terms with the club," the statement confirmed.
Afobe has recreated the prolificness displayed in the Under-18's into his performances for Steve Bould's youth team this season. Last year he was responsible for 11 goals at schoolboy level, whereas this term he has returned 12 goals from 17 appearances.
"Everyone at the club is looking forward to Benik’s continued contribution and development with Arsenal in the forthcoming years," the statement concluded.
Heralded as a potential star in the making due to his stellar form playing against opposition that are older than he is, Afobe now joins a growing list of promising youth players rewarded with professional contracts this season.
Sanchez Watt and Jay-Emmanuel Thomas have both been recipients of senior deals.
