Stewart Downing has retained his place in Liverpool's starting side for their Premier League match against Stoke City.

The winger netted his first Premier League goal since his arrival at Anfield in July 2011 against Fulham on Saturday, and the winger forms part of the trio behind Luis Suarez along with Suso and Jonjo Shelvey.

Brendan Rodgers has named an unchanged side following Liverpool's 4-0 victory at home to Fulham, which means Raheem Sterling and Joe Allen continue on the bench.

For Stoke, Tony Pulis has made one change to the side who secured a goalless draw against Tottenham on Saturday as Michael Kightly is preferred on the right flank to Ryan Shotton, who drops to the bench.
