Bengaluru FC 1-2 DSK Shivajians: Kim Song Yong scores to haunt former team

DSK Shivajians secured a 2-1 win over Bengaluru FC as part of a friendly encounter to prepare for the upcoming Durand Cup. 

While new signing Juan Gonzalez had put the Blues ahead in the first half, the Dave Rogers managed team struck back in the second half through Kim Song Yong and local lad, Arif Shaikh to record a win at the Bangalore Football Stadium.

The friendly played on Thursday saw the big guns from the reigning I-League champions turn up in the first half including the likes of Sunil Chhetri, Eugeneson Lyngdoh and John Johnson taking the field. 

The second half saw new boss, Albert Roca throwing in some fresh faces and youngsters into the mix as he is looking for crucial match practice before the AFC Cup Quarterfinal encounter against Tampines Rovers.

The champions have added midfielder Cameron Watson, Alvaro Rubio and Juan Gonzalez to the squad besides retaining defender John Johnson.  

Meanwhile, for the Pune team are set to participate in the Durand Cup for the first time, from 28th August.
