Anupam Sarkar, the Indian defender who recently joined Gerogian side FC Adel Batumi, made his debut on Saturday in the club's 6-0 win against FC STU Tbilisi.
Adel Batumi are currently playing in the Group A of Pirveli League, the second tier football competition of the European country.
As the side strolled to an easy victory against their opponents, the former United Sports Club and FC Pune City footballer entered the field in place of Vazha Ivaniadze as a 78th minute substitute.
With this cameo, Anupam became only the fourth Indian footballer ever to take part in a competitive fixture for a foreign club, after Bhiachung Bhutia, Sunil Chhetri and Gurpreet Singh Sandhu.
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, who played a competitive fixture for Norweigan outfit Stabaek FC, had attained this feat last year.
