Mohun Bagan sign Fatai Adisa Alao as their second foreigner

The Mariners have roped in an overseas footballer, who even has the distinction of scoring against their arch-rivals in the AFC Cup.
Mohun Bagan have signed Fatao Adisa Alao, a Nigerian defender currently plying his trade in Yemen, the club has informed.

The African player is Bagan’s second foreign recruit for the upcoming season, with the first being Yusa Katsumi, who had been retained after a brilliant maiden campaign at the club.

Adisa was a member of Yemen outfit Al Oruba, being a regular first team member there since 2009.

Adisa had also scored against East Bengal at the Saltlake Stadium in March 2012 in his only club appearance in India, when the two clubs were competing in the AFC Cup.

Mohun Bagan have already started their pre-season practice sessions, but the postponement of the IFA Shield has already disrupted their plans.

Two spots in the overseas quota of the Mariners is still vacant and it remains to be seen whether they will bring in more players now with the national tournaments slated to start in December.
