Royal Wahingdoh FC appoint Germany's Volker Hofferbert as head coach

Royal Wahingdoh FC have announced that they have hired the services of Volker  as their head coach who will be assisted by Carlton Chapman and L. Nandakumar Singh.

While Singh has an AFC 'A-Licence' coaching certificate, Hofferbert was formerly involved with the physical education in the University of Cologne.

The 63-year old German national has also coached the Yemen national football team and most recently has been in charge of building sporting infrastructure in Laos with specialisation in youth and women’s football.

Hofferbert has won the Vice Asian Championship AFF in 2007 with Laos U-17 national team in 2007 and two years later coached the Laos women’s national team to take them to 70th spot in the the FIFA rankings from 123rd position.

He also wrote his name in the history books of Yemeni second division club Al Majid for winning their first and only Cup in 1987.

Hofferbert had also led Icelandic professional club Valur Reykjavik as head coach with whom he won two championships and competed against English club Aston Villa in the Champions League qualifiers.
