East Bengal defender Nirmal Chettri set to sign for Mohun Bagan next month

Nirmal Chettri has agreed terms for a transfer to Mohun Bagan for the seasons 2012-13 and 2013-14 after his visit to the Mariners club tent, on Friday.

"I will be signing a contract with Mohun Bagan on the 1st of June from when the new season starts," Nirmal told Goal.com. "Everything is okay with East Bengal and me where I learned a lot."

"I met club officials Anjan Mitra and Debashish Dutta and they told me that they expect a lot from me as I have already won a lot at East Bengal," he added.

"I know that there will be a lot of pressure to perform well at Mohun Bagan as the fans will also expect a lot especially after a trophyless season."

The Sikkimese defender spent the last term with the Red and Gold where he won the IFA Shield and finished runners-up in the I-League 2011-12.

He also revealed on Twitter: "Will be playing for @Mohun_BaganAC from next Seasons..New Team, New Dressing Room & New Teammates at Maidan..Now a New Mariner on the Way!"
