Mohun Bagan on Wednesday officially announced that their youth wing has been invited to take part in a tournament in China named the WALL CUP.
The Tournament shall be played near Beijing and will host
around 40 teams from all over Asia. Junior teams and academy sides from top football nations in Asia like Iran, Australia, Korea, Japan and so on have been
invited to be a part in this FIFA Accredited Tournament.
Mohun Bagan working committee has given the go ahead signal
for the youth brigade to set on their Chinese tour.
Speaking to Goal.com Mohun
Bagan general secretary Mr.Anjan Mitra said, “It is a very proud occasion for
all football fans in India that our club has been invited to participate in a
tournament at Asian level."
"The Wall Cup of China is very popular in the region
and we expect this whole event to be a good exposure for not only our club but
also Indian Football.”
Mohun Bagan Academy or the U-19 side is currently coached by former India international Jo Paul Ancheri, who holds an AFC "B" coaching licence.
